Fluoroscopy

Preparation

GI series/esophogram/small bowel
Nothing to eat, drink, chew or smoke from midnight until the examination.

Barium enema
Purchase Fleets barium enema prep kit #3 and follow the 24-hour preparation.

Intravenous Pyelography (IVP)

One bottle of citrate of magnesium in the evening prior to the examination. Light supper the evening before the examination then nothing to eat from midnight until the examination. On the morning of the examination take a Fleets enema.

Hysterosalpingography


A Hysterosalpingography is a special x-ray study of the female reproductive tract. It involves taking x-rays of the uterus and fallopian tubes after the injection of contrast media. It is used to evaluate infertility in women, determine the cause of repeated miscarriages or of painful menstruation.
